Wedding Memories

How we made an American Quilt
You can create, alone or with a crowd, very special wedding/occasion gifts, using quilting.

Below are examples of a group project, where everyone contributed a finished block, after being supplied with pre-cut, multi-colored blocks (so that they are all the same size), and lots of decorating supplies (fabric paints, stencils, fabrics, ribbon...) and of course, going out to get other decorations of their own!

Once you get the blocks back, you put the quilt together, adding sashing and borders, and then stitch in the ditch, so as not to interfere with any of the multi-media in the blocks!

This next sample is an example of a 'Guest Book' quilt, with spaces for Guests to leave their best wishes to the celebrant / celebrants (think wedding / significant birthday / retirement). It can be left on a table, in quarter folds, and everyone sign as they enter.
