Select the size of the quilt
And the number of blocks
Select your fabric
And start cutting. It could be in pieces or in strips or both, most my pieces begin as strips
Once mine is in strips is when I begin using tools to cut out shapes, though that's just one way...
Go slow! Check that your colors create the image you want
Once it's all cut out, start sewing the pieces together
Ironing every step of the way!
Stack your pieces in easy to use stacks
Then put pieces together to make bigger pieces
Until you are ready to create your squares
Once you are making squares, stack them in groups
Assemble the squares, and any sashing
Then build your sandwich, backing, batting and top, and pin
Flip to the back and straighten (pinning on the top), then flip to the top and straighten any bubbles out, pin more
Then start top stitching, keeping everything smooth
Put your binding together
And add it to your quilt!
